Another day at the office!
Oh, the rites of Spring! I never tire of making note of the different car tags on Tybee this time of year. I see Kentucky, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Maine, Arkansas, New Hampshire and tags from just about every state! All roads lead to Tybee, y’all!
Our beaches have never looked more beautiful, so I just couldn’t resist getting outside to snap a few photos of everyone having a great time. It’s days like this that make for such wonderful memories as we celebrate new friends and families and island life. Everyone’s welcome and no one’s a stranger because the line starts forming early outside the world famous Breakfast Club.
Soon, the parade of beach carts begins and little makeshift beach colonies start to populate. The colors of the beach umbrellas pop against the sands and people watching is at a premium. All the cares of the world are swept away on our tropical winds and good times are ushered in with the tides.

It’s also a great time to discover island life by joining a marine science educator on a one-hour guided discovery walk along Tybee’s beach to learn about coastal Georgia’s tides, dunes, and the wildlife that live in and around the ocean. Also, a guided one-hour exploration of the jewels in Georgia’s salt marshes is a great way to explore the marsh’s marvelous mud for fiddler crabs, snails and more. You’ll learn why the estuary is called the ocean’s nursery.
